Yes, we are still working hard and long days at our new home, even though outside it's sunny, it seems I haven't seen the sky for days. Progress is made and I must say that even though it's a lot of work, it's a wonderful feeling to make the house ours and to give it our personal touch.

The dark wooden stairs were definitely not my favourite, but in white it's already a lot better, it was so difficult to manage to make it white, the wood was very hard to cover... The bedroom was painted in snow white, with a beige chalk paint, which gives a velvety look on our wall. I love chalkpaint, it glides on and it gives the wall so much beauty.

Tomorrow we will have to leave to France for 3 days, regarding a visit to family, but next week we'll be hard at work again.
I don't post so often these days, but I keep you all updated!
Do take care girls, Solange xx
Working, working, we are on schedule and doing things, one step at a time. I enjoy working in our house, knowing it is ours and that it will look really nice in a few weeks!
The wall are plastered and the kitchen is getting better. We also plastered the arch, which was made of brown bricks and we thought it was too dark and old-fashioned.
Is everybody enjoying the summer days? Here, the sun is coming out every time ,then some clouds, then some sunshine...

I wish you all nice days and I will post soon again!
Solange
The packing will soon start now that we get the key of our new house over tomorrow. For work matters I am off for a few days to Germany. Things seem to get quite busy and I will be away for some time from my blog, but not for too long.
Here are some photos of my delicious strawberry cake which me and my husband ate with great joy :-) and a picture of the boxes, ready to be filled.... yes, quite some packing to do.
I will visit you soon again and I wish you all a very nice week!
Take care, Solange
potterybarnThis last week I've had a better feeling about the removal. In two weeks we get the key and then we will be completely dependent from the builders and hope that the do a good job and that they can finish it on time...
I realized there is no use in worrying and therefore, I just focused on the decorating side of the home. I had a look around and you know, when you look at your accessories and you know that some are you favourite, and some, well, you don't know why you still keep them.
I realized I will get rid of some things before we move, so that we can make a fresh start. The good thing is that we save space and the even better thing is that I have an excuse to buy some new things!
potterybarnThis time I show you some beautiful accessories, which go especially for the summer season. I don't actually have these things but I find them beautiful and serene looking.
potterybarnI especially love the starfish, they are beautiful and give the home a holiday touch I find. Are you all enjoying the sun? Here the summer is not really great, but nevertheless we have sometimes some sunny days, which I try to enjoy fully!
have a good week my friends and take care!
Solange xx
So, today I was doing my grocery shopping and I was just done, when my eye fell on this beautiful little french book called 'Le bois et la maison'. What a gorgeous little book, filled with light interiors, lots of wood and my favourite country, cozy style.
I thought it was quite cheap, so I bought it right away.
At home I am looking through the pages and just thinking how lucky I was today to find it.
I will share some pictures here, so you can have a look for yourself!

Lovely pictures, no? I really love the atmosphere wood gives, I wouldn't like a entire wooden home, it's not my style, but I love the use of it for floors and furniture. I even want wooden floors in the bathroom!
Now, I will continue with tidying my living room a bit and read a bit, enjoy your evening girls and I hope you are all enjoying this month of June.
Solange xx!
Last weekend we bought a 'real' bed for our son, who's 2,5 years old now. He was so proud that he didn't have to sleep in his baby bed anymore.
The bed is from Ikea and it's made of brown wood. I didn't really like the style, and so I painted the bed white this afternoon. I painted it a sort of ivory white, like an off white.
At first my son slept a bit in both beds, being a bit unsure about such a big bed, but slowly he is now used to it.... he of course climbs out a lot and sometimes I hear him tiptoeing upstairs, but well, it goes with the change! :-)

Now that we are moving soon, I am thinking of other things I want to change and things which could use a make over.
I will keep you updated on my next house project....
have a brilliant week and take care,
Solange
