Just a little break...

The packing will soon start now that we get the key of our new house over tomorrow. For work matters I am off for a few days to Germany. Things seem to get quite busy and I will be away for some time from my blog, but not for too long.

Here are some photos of my delicious strawberry cake which me and my husband ate with great joy :-) and a picture of the boxes, ready to be filled.... yes, quite some packing to do.

I will visit you soon again and I wish you all a very nice week!

Take care, Solange

Beautiful accessories

potterybarn

This last week I've had a better feeling about the removal. In two weeks we get the key and then we will be completely dependent from the builders and hope that the do a good job and that they can finish it on time...
I realized there is no use in worrying and therefore, I just focused on the decorating side of the home. I had a look around and you know, when you look at your accessories and you know that some are you favourite, and some, well, you don't know why you still keep them.
I realized I will get rid of some things before we move, so that we can make a fresh start. The good thing is that we save space and the even better thing is that I have an excuse to buy some new things!

This time I show you some beautiful accessories, which go especially for the summer season. I don't actually have these things but I find them beautiful and serene looking.

I especially love the starfish, they are beautiful and give the home a holiday touch I find. Are you all enjoying the sun? Here the summer is not really great, but nevertheless we have sometimes some sunny days, which I try to enjoy fully!

have a good week my friends and take care!

Look what I found...

So, today I was doing my grocery shopping and I was just done, when my eye fell on this beautiful little french book called 'Le bois et la maison'. What a gorgeous little book, filled with light interiors, lots of wood and my favourite country, cozy style.
I thought it was quite cheap, so I bought it right away.
At home I am looking through the pages and just thinking how lucky I was today to find it.

I will share some pictures here, so you can have a look for yourself!

Lovely pictures, no? I really love the atmosphere wood gives, I wouldn't like a entire wooden home, it's not my style, but I love the use of it for floors and furniture. I even want wooden floors in the bathroom!
Now, I will continue with tidying my living room a bit and read a bit, enjoy your evening girls and I hope you are all enjoying this month of June.

Solange xx!

a little make over

Last weekend we bought a 'real' bed for our son, who's 2,5 years old now. He was so proud that he didn't have to sleep in his baby bed anymore.
The bed is from Ikea and it's made of brown wood. I didn't really like the style, and so I painted the bed white this afternoon. I painted it a sort of ivory white, like an off white.
At first my son slept a bit in both beds, being a bit unsure about such a big bed, but slowly he is now used to it.... he of course climbs out a lot and sometimes I hear him tiptoeing upstairs, but well, it goes with the change! :-)

Now that we are moving soon, I am thinking of other things I want to change and things which could use a make over.
I will keep you updated on my next house project....

have a brilliant week and take care,

Things change

photo:wedgewood

Hi everyone! I've been a bad blogger lately, so much to do and so little time. Things are going well with the new house project and for the moment we just have to wait another 4 weeks, and then we get the key.

When I was younger, I remembered never caring so much for fancy china. Then when I got married, my husband said that most people open a wedding list for the gifts they receive, so that they can pick things for their home, which I thought was great, otherwise you get 102 photoframes and vases.... and so we chose some beautiful glasses and cutlery sets from 'Villeroy and Boch'. They looks beautiful and give my table instant elegance when I set my table for dinners.

But things change and change, and yes, I was walking this week in a beautiful store in my town, when I bumped accidentally into the beautiful line of 'Wedgewood's' Polka dots collection. Don't you love how delicate these fine tea and coffee cups look?
I realize that I enjoy drinking coffee and tea in fine china, it gives me a feeling of being in a Jane Austen movie, really!!
So, there I stood, looking at the cups, not the cheapest, but oh so tempting... I think I will soon buy a cup or two for my new house, I mean, a girl needs a fancy cup for her tea and coffee right?!

I don't know how the weather is with you all, but here it's very humid and the sun comes and goes. Wish you all a wonderful evening and do take care!
