Finally, we found a new home!

photo: special wonen engelse stijl

Finally....after looking for so long, and knowing that you always have to compromise, we found a new home. That means, I am moving and we will be very busy starting from mid June. I am so looking forward, finally I can start to put my ideas to practise and get out all the pictures I have been saving for years, to get inspired again.

I know also that it get can very busy, and stressful and I am hoping my husband and I will stay cool, since I heard so many stories on how works can make you crazy.... Since there is quite some work to be done (new kitchen, new floors, tear down a fireplace..)
Moving home is exiting and scary in the same time.

This week will be filled with talks, plans and dreams of how our home, dreaming is of course the best part.
I wish you all a very good weekend, enjoy yourselves and do take care!

We'll always have Paris...

photo:solange

We had a wonderful break in Paris, 4 days of shopping, museums and really a lot of nice food... My favourite part was our trip to Versailles, not so much the Palace, but the beautiful gardens and of course, the domain of Marie-Antoinette. It was so calm and peaceful in the gardens and I just wished we could have stayed a little longer.

The strange thing is, that for once I did some shopping for myself! I usually buy lots things for the house and I only go to interior shops, but this time I bought myself a party dress, a pair of shoes, and accessories. It was so nice to just get some things, and take the time to look for clothes.
We ate macaroons at Ladurée and we walked till our feet hurt. It was really very enjoyable. My husband and I were happy to return home to our little boy, who we missed after 2 days, but I can tell you that some days away in two, really is good for a couple once in awhile!

I will soon be back, but I have to first order my home a bit, the luggages are emptied and I started my work again today, which is always a bit hard after having been away, but well, I am full of energy again, and if we ever get tired, bored or need some inspiration, then we'll always have Paris...

take care girls and enjoy your week, wherever you are.

A few days to Paris

photo;solange

Tomorrow me and my husband will be going to Paris for a short break. We stay there until saturday evening and then we still have the sunday to relax to return to work on Monday. The grandparents came all the way from France to watch our little boy.
I'm very exited, since we will also visit Versailles and hopefully I will run into some interior shops and lovely things. You never know... Last weekend, I saw that I still had some lavender water for my laundry in my cupboard, so I thought, even if I don't use it so often, the bottle looks like a decoration, just by itself!

Here the sun is shining and I hope that also for you all the sun will shine the next days. I will be back to check your blogs soon, as well as to update mine with news from Paris!

wish you all a nice week girls!

take care,

Saturday

A chair to relax in (preferably with a book and a good snack)

Finally Saturday again, I just love to be home, not having to do anything. The day is has started and we are all inside, relaxing.
I found some lovely pictures of some furniture I'd love to have. Elegant, soft, light and chic. Flamant really is one of my favourite interior brands. They have got such a beautiful style.

This weekend will exist out of tidying, relaxing, eating nice things and going places we don't know yet.

Wish you all a very nice weekend and do take care,

Solange x!

a make over

My lamp before and after....

I finally managed to clean my lamp which has been standing on my shelf for nearly 3 years without me polishing it. It was quite hard to get all the corners and little parts clean, but finally you can see the result!

We've also worked in the garden a lot these days and now there is more colour and more atmosphere. I am not really good in the garden, but I do my best to make it cosy. I especially love the green plants in pots and baskets, it gives a real country style feeling.
At the moment, I am thinking of changing another lamp I have. I find lamps very hard to find and choose, I don't know why, but maybe because it has to fit with the interior, but also give a good light and well, it's complicated...

Today it was another sunny day, how lucky I felt, when the sun was out and the world looks so different. Spring is definitely something I've been waiting for, and even though it's not very warm yet, it's sunnier and lighter outside.

I wish you a all a very nice week and do take care my friends,

Me, the busy bee

photo:solange
photo: solange

This friday has been very busy, but I got a lot done and that always feels good. I started with my grocery shopping, then lunch and then I went to the garden centre, to get new plants for the baskets to place them at the front door.
I think it gives a nice welcome if your entrance is well taken care of. My old plants had died and then I left them there a bit too long...shame on me...

Then I put some fresh flowers in the vases at home and I did some ironing. I must admit that we have a cleaner once a week, but I just don't like to have too much laundry laying around. It's so nice to have everything ironed in the cupboard, fresh and neatly arranged, :-)

I also added a 'before' picture of a lamp which used to be silverish, but now it's turned dark and a bit dull, so my next project is to polish it and I will show you the 'after' photograph soon.

Tonight we are off with another couple to the movies and the japanese restaurant, I am really looking forward. Tomorrow is Saturday and I hope that you all enjoy the weekend very much so, eat, laugh and relax!!

Take care girls,

Solange

Not a day goes by...

photo:solange

Not a day goes by, without kissing my family, enjoying time at home, thinking and dreaming of decorating a new home...
I have just poured my coffee and am sitting and watching my new bought lavender plant. It looks and smells so good. I think plants can really add something extra. Like your home is not complete without them.
photo:solange

I got a piece of soap, which I think gives me a feeling of the provence, it's really nice to keep it just for the look, but I will use it soon. I like to use all my things, no matter how precious or special they are, since it's no good keeping things unused, we should treat ourselves like queens, I like to think :-)

The silverish plate I show here, I use for under candles or in the livingroom, I really like the combination of white and silver, so pretty.

I enjoy watching everybody's blog so much, your stories, pictures and funny comments, make me happy and I am always thrilled to see how other women decorate their home and share their stories.

hope you all have a good evening, and enjoy the week,

Solange xx!
