I love the festive days, but must say that I am also glad to be back to normal life. We had big works before Christmas, putting a new carpet and doors on our top floor, and all this is finally behind us and we can start the decorating.
At the moment I am trying to find curtains, isn't that difficult? There is so much choice and I also seem to find something in a magazine which is either out of stock or not for sale here.
I'm due in May of our second child, so I am starting to think about the nursery, my 5 year old son is eager to think along, and its funny to see how he already has got an interest in moving furniture and decoration.
I don't always comment on your blogs, but I do keep reading them, sometimes I just don't have to time to leave a comment.
Lynn, Nadine, Marjolijn, Madelief, Mary-Laure, Rebecca from Sanctuary, Chantal, Terri, Thanks for all your lovely posts, and keeping me inspired!
Wish you all a lovely week!

Busy days indeed...preparations for Christmas, a new floor being renovated in our home, my belly growing and growing....
It does feel like Christmas is near, but honestly, I am rather tired at this moment. I think I will just enjoy the good food, the days home and resting.
Sometimes you forget to actually forget it's time for fun and relaxation when you are so busy preparing, shopping and taking care of all the things there are to do around the house and family!

don't you love the white flowers, covered with wax, a real winter bouquet.
I have of course been buying all the possible interior magazine, since the December issues are always my favourite. Full of ideas and I usually keep these issue, which means I have got old christmas magazines, lovely!
I just can't get enough of the food presented, the cosy interiors. Especially the british magazines are so good at this.
At home I have started to add a little touch here and there. I have to be careful, since we have first St. Nicolas on December 5th, but I do that mainly for our son, secretly I can't wait for it to be over, so we can move on to the serious feast, Christmas.
I have even got a blu ray version of the Christmas Carol this year (I know, I know....) since that movie is a must during the Christmas holidays.
After December 6th I can let go and fully indulge in decoration....still a bit of patience.
have a nice week everybody!

It's been quite a while since I didn't blog, but time flies and a million other things have happened and kept me occupied. Here, autumn has started, which so far has meant lots of rain and chilly wind.
I have been burning non stop candles in the evening, to keep the house warm and cosy looking, an extra plaid and now I am thinking if I should change the pillows for the winter to come.
I ordered lately these lovely little candleholder houses, don't you think they are wonderful? I can't wait for them to arrive....
Our garden is also in a pitiful state, which means I will have to tend to it soon, in order to make it ready for winter.
wish you all a wonderful Sunday,
Solange
We are leaving for Sardinia and coming back in 10 days. We need some rest, sun and Italian food, to lift our spirits and give
us some new energy.
Hope you are all enjoying your holiday or if you have already returned, hope you had a good time.
Take care!
Sundays used to be my least favourite day of the week, the feeling the weekend was over. Since a few years, I realize that they are perfect for just hanging around and enjoy the fact that you can do your 'house things' and prepare a nice dinner.
Shops are open on sundays near my city here, and I can even choose to do my shopping on Sundays, quite practical if you receive guests for dinner and need last minute ingredients!

The sun hasn't shown himself so much lately, but I keep the summer feeling with some lovely lavender here and there, and I found this small bird for in my garden, isn't it charming?
Soon, in 2 weeks we'll go for holiday to Italy, can't wait. Until then, I enjoy the more homely things.
