Another few days have passed and so much has happened. We were a full week in France, for family and a wedding to attend. Then we were back in our home and realized there was still so much work to do. But slowly things are taking shape and we are well on our way.
I have bought some lovely flowers this week, received a jar full of cookies (beautiful to look at, yummy to eat!) and a few magazines here and there make me feel quickly at home. Its strange how different your own things look in a new home, they are the same things yet they look so different, better, for that matter.

This week I will go back to work again, but my home will still be my project for quite some time, I have got countless ideas, from lamps to colours, new curtains, corners to decorate, well, a long list...
I wish everybody a wonderful weekend, and sorry for not passing by so much, it's been a bit busy!!
take care,
Solange xx!
Finally we have moved! I didn't have an internet connection, so I couldn't keep you updated, but now I can start posting again.
Thanks all so much for your kind and warm messages, it's nice to see you all care.
I am still in sooo many unpacked boxes....all around me but some rooms are getting better and I have so far unpacked about 80 I think, incredible how much we have, you only see it really when you have to pack your things...

These are just some random pictures of our new home, what do you think? I still haven't found my way, but we've only lived here for 3 days now. I need some time to feel the atmosphere, to rearrange everything.
I will post soon again, I will start unpacking a box again!
take care,
Solange xx
I haven't blogged for awhile, but there is so much work to do... liters of paint have gone through our hands and slowly everything is falling into place. We will move next friday so my internet connection is at the new house already...
hope you are all fine and enjoying the vacation or your house.
Soon I will send you new pictures of my new home.
Solange

After working long days on our new house, it's easy to sometimes loose inspiration and not see the whole picture. Then I found these beautiful images in French magazines recently and I just got so inspired by them, making me want to make my new home beautiful and warm. Sometimes we need new views or ideas to get started again.

I can't wait to sit down with a cup of tea and enjoy my new house. It will still be some weeks, but I am full of new energy and ideas. Flowers, cushions, silverware, magazines, all so gorgeous.
At the moment the kitchen is being installed and yesterday I went to town with my sister, and I bought 7,5 liters of Farrow & Ball paint (!) it was so heavy (my sister was kind enough to help me carry it and we went straight for coffee and bagels afterwards....) but I just love the colour choice at Farrow and Ball, amazing, I decided to go with the colour: 'Old White'. It will be the colour of my livingroom...

Have a great weekend and I do hope you enjoy this sunday.

Yes, we are still working hard and long days at our new home, even though outside it's sunny, it seems I haven't seen the sky for days. Progress is made and I must say that even though it's a lot of work, it's a wonderful feeling to make the house ours and to give it our personal touch.

The dark wooden stairs were definitely not my favourite, but in white it's already a lot better, it was so difficult to manage to make it white, the wood was very hard to cover... The bedroom was painted in snow white, with a beige chalk paint, which gives a velvety look on our wall. I love chalkpaint, it glides on and it gives the wall so much beauty.

Tomorrow we will have to leave to France for 3 days, regarding a visit to family, but next week we'll be hard at work again.
I don't post so often these days, but I keep you all updated!
Do take care girls, Solange xx
Working, working, we are on schedule and doing things, one step at a time. I enjoy working in our house, knowing it is ours and that it will look really nice in a few weeks!
The wall are plastered and the kitchen is getting better. We also plastered the arch, which was made of brown bricks and we thought it was too dark and old-fashioned.
Is everybody enjoying the summer days? Here, the sun is coming out every time ,then some clouds, then some sunshine...

I wish you all nice days and I will post soon again!
